1943 – These pages ares from the first Bombardier-Navigators Class 43-13 DR “The Shack” album book.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.  But, I am assuming that this training took place at the San Angelo Army Airfield (now San Angelo Regional Airport – Mathis Field).

12 Feb 1952 – Captain Robert L. Hickman, instructor, demonstrates an instrument briefing panel to a group of students (unidentified).  Fabricated locally, the panel was designed by Captain Hickman to aid the teaching of the primary flight instrument phase of the basic pilot training program.  (3545th Pilot Training Wing)

 

1954 – Physiological Training Unit, 16-man chamber obtained from Kelly AFB in July 1954.

1955 – A training aid used in teaching celestial navigation. Known as a planetarium, it consisted primarily of a global-type projector and an 8-foot metal and fabric dome.  Standing under the dome is 1st Lt. R. B. 1958-1961 Electronic Systems Maintenance Training
1959 – A QRC-45 antenna is shown being erected in the USAFSS School area.  Antenna was utilized in systems maintenance training.

Jan-Jun 1965 – A USAFSS School Technician performs final checkout on locally fabricated telemetry system trainer.  The device was used to demonstrate how telemetry signals are multiplexed and transmitted via FM.
